Ketchup! or Zoo...

I know I should take time and get all caught up but lets face it... thats gonna take a long time and is less motivating than just posting whats been going on recently. BUT I am making myself post about our trip to the zoo with mandy, sarah and alex and SJ! It was a lot of fun AND the Idaho Falls zoo had a surprising amount of animals!

It was Jacks first trip to the zoo, which we kept getting excited about and pointing out... as if hes going to remember it! He really slept most of the trip, which was probably for the best... for everyone. We also had a nice picnic at the end (I know I should move those pics to the bottom but my computers being a pain... ) ANYWAY.. lunch was delicious and brad and jack were definitely tuckered out.

It was so fun having Mandy and Sarah up here!!! Mandy stayed at our apt and is sooo good with Jackson... he LOVES her and she always can calm him down. I think he has a crush on his aunty. I told him no. :)

So I FINALLY am making time to update my blog, and instead of starting back with all the ones I have been meaning to post, Im just gonna do the one Im most excited about now. I finally finished my 3 intense block classes today and I finished cleaning up Jacksons room yesterday so HERE IT IS!!!! Also, at the bottom is a picture of the blanket that I am working on thats from my mom (jacks grandma... crazy!!) and me (jacks mom... so crazy!!) ANyway... Its going to be ADORABLE and when I finish it, it will get its own post.
This is a cute vintage bike license plate that my mom found and got for him and I think it looks so cute on his door:)

The paper lanterns and poms above his bed I was soo excited about and the red one had a light in it so it looks cool and works as a nice nightlight. total cost of all of that; $13!!!

these are some fun paintings that me and brad did (hes such a good sport) for jacks room, I think they turned out so cute, and the vinyl above it that says "oh the places you'll go" my sister in law sarah jayne found at a dollar store in boise!! LOVE IT!

the dr seuss blanket-in-progress and ADORABLE denim bumpers compliments of my awesome mom! :)

we cant paint the walls but my mom gave me the orange fabric from our wedding reception and it adds a ton to the room!

My friend Kim made and drew and framed this adorable Jackson wall hanging with Dr Seuss characters all around it.. its soooo cute and just made me feel so special she took so much time for me!

This is his closet... above it are some little canvas's I got and painted to say JACK and then i loved all his little hats so much I had to hang them up!! and i loved my target find.. those PERFECT sized red bins on sale that hold all his adorable little things!

Brads aunt gave/made such a cute diaper cake for us... which was so sad to take apart but LOOK AT ALL THOSE TINY DIAPERS!!!!!!! :) and his bath stuff that i smell DAILY... at least...

This is his high tech pack n play that is his bassinet and had this handy newborn napper on it! Everyone has been so generous to us.

Belly, Family, and Sledding!

Here is a picture of my belly that Brad took last night when I got home from work, this is at 18 weeks!
Behind me, and below, is the newest addition to our apartment.. a bookshelf! we love it! the bottom two shelves are for the baby. Brad even made a sign that says "reserved for Jack or Lily's stuff." We like those two names A LOT (Jackson but Jack for short:)
We LOVE having Alex and Sarah here! We get together with them often, but these pictures are from a couple weeks ago when we had that monday off and now I cant at all remember what the holiday was....................................... MLK!
Anyway, they came over and shared in our big breakfast, we made cinnamon rolls (my thing) and biscuits and gravy( Brads thing... and he is SOOOOOOO good at it!!!) Delicious!!!!! the picture below he is making biscuits from scratch because I forgot we ran out of bisquick!

Then we went sledding on the big hill... I will label so you know who they are, but I was told by the doctor not to sled so I just went real slow once half way down and mostly enjoyed taking pictures! It was A BLAST!
All three of them!

Brad

He looks so jolly!
haha defying gravity!
Alex got thrown from the tube...
The beginning of Sarahs big fall
Mid-fall
sliding the rest of the way down... WITH a smile! :)
Idaho is not so bad!

Brad felt bad even though I was having fun taking pictures... but I did go half down once... :)
The end!

A BABY!!

Letting my blog know that we are having a baby was something I was very excited about... and unfortunately I did it in the MOST un-cool and disrespectful-to-our-unborn-baby way possible! I mean NO baby spends 9 months in the belly dreaming of being introduced into their momma's blog-world because of a sweet-and-sour chinese food/morning sickness incident!
So here it goes,
Im sorry baby. Sweet baby. We were so excited that we flipped our family home evening names over to mom and dad!

Brad and I are so very excited. We both dream about our baby basically every night and Brad is just the best poppa ever to our little one and they arent even born yet! Im starting to puff out, which is really exciting, and I'll put up a picture of that soon:) For now, I just wanted to say some things I think about/have been doing often with regards to the baby.
I will do it in the form of bullet points because I can. Im the boss of this show!
  • I have put my hands on my tiny but growing belly and sang them "Cant help falling in love" approximately 12 times. love Elvis. love Baby.
  • I have listened to every song out there about babies coming into the world.
  • I have worried about being a good mom.
  • I have looked online at cribs, carseats, diapers, toys, childrens books, strollers, and just about everything in between.
  • I have stared at my changing body in the mirror, trying to figure out whats gonna happen next with it.
  • I have felt ugly and gorgeous in the same hour.
  • I have stared into our spare bedroom and tried to figure out the twin bed+crib dillema.
  • I have cried because I want to have more time to sew baby stuff from the book brad got me for christmas... check it out!
    http://www.amazon.com/Handmade-Beginnings-Sewing-Projects-Welcome/dp/0470497815/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1295412539&sr=8-1
  • I have appreciated deeply my own mom, and the tough decisions she had to make at a young age, when starting a family and am so grateful for her choices!
  • I have not slept through the night for months, but I now sort of enjoy it, I feel like its just me and the baby and Brad and even though Brads sleeping, its still so nice.
  • I made the first couple of baby purchases, I know we will get the cheaper kind later but really wanted Burts bees baby bath stuff for special occasions so Brad and I bought these. :) I smell them often. They dont sell the baby powder here which is a bummer but oh well!

Here's a picture of John... we miss him lots and hope our baby is as fun as him... plus everyone loves a good picture of John!

even better news makes good news bad news

SO remember that chinese food? well... THAT was good news. The better news? we are expecting!! the good news becoming bad news? it made me so very sick for a good 24 hours afterwards. yikes. oh well. i suffered through it, cried plenty at work yesterday... yes... a little uncontrollably, and then came home to cry to brad about how i have two jobs and am failing at both. I could barely get the words out to him telling him the apartment is a mess, the laundry isnt done, i never make dinner, im unhappy all the time (not really true but seemed true at the moment!) And how my other job to make money... im awful at. (that one really is prolly true but im trying.) Anyway, it was a bad day. today in comparison was glorious, my kids were awesome, we finally made turkeys to go on the bulletin board and i didnt throw up and only suffered minor nausea!

my favorite thing i crave all the time: rice krispies with bananas and a little sugar. mm.

i need to start exercising more though. Ive been losing a little weight from being sick but im also getting flabby. i dont wanna be a flabby young mom, i wanna be a hot mama! haha... okay or really just not flabby. okay done my hormonal ramblings.
